Representative Hill passes significant legislation in her 1st term …
April 18, 2008 Augusta, Maine - With the 123rd Maine Legislature coming to the close of its 2nd regular session, Representative Hill can take stock of some important legislative successes that she sponsored during her first term. LD 340, An Act to protect the shoreline from illegal tree removal, LD 1727, An Act to require veterinarians to file rabies certificates, LD 2079 An act to strengthen the crime of visual sexual aggression against a child and HP 1654 A Joint Resolution asking the federal government, FEMA and Department of Homeland Security to finish designating Maine's floodplain maps as originally agreed, won bi-partisan support in their various committee hearings and in the Maine House & Senate. "I am very pleased that these three bills and resloution were passed into law with bi-partisan support, and that the bills signed into law created no fiscal impact to Maine taxpayers," noted Hill. Hill was the primary sponsor of 16 legislative items, including sentiments, a resolution and proposed legislation. She co-sponsored over 160 legislative items in total.
