The issues of the 123rd Legislative Session have been both exciting and challenging. My commitment to you, as always, is to offer transparency, independent representation and positive results. Protecting Maine Ideals

Having boldly entered into the 21st century, we recognize that in a global economy where information, technology and skilled labor are prerequisites for success it is time that Maine re-invent itself, re-energize its ingenuity and live up to its natural and economic potential. The challenges we face are daunting: rising fuel costs, spiraling healthcare costs, loss of manufacturing jobs, rising property taxes and the struggles that everyday hard working Maine families experience in order to make financial ends meet. A New Maine Economy

It is time for Maine to re-invent itself, re-energize its ingenuity and live up to its natural and economic potential. Admittedly, we have one of the most revered destination locations any where in the continental US, perhaps the world. Our clean air, invigorating coast lines and lakes, pristine forests and scenic roads conjure up visions of what it is to experience a Maine vacation. But, our tourism industry can not take on the whole of Maine's economic vitality or tax revenue. Neither can personal income tax, property taxes or corporate taxes on Maine businesses. Read More

Looking Ahead

The Maine experience is unforgettable - so too are its people. Perhaps it's a memory of going to one of Maine's sandy beaches or rocky coastline; or, fishing from a canoe in the lake; a walk on one of Maine's forested trails; or perhaps a skiing vacation in mountains. Maybe a special diner or favorite Maine restaurant inspired a return trip to that favorite place. And all along the way, Mainers make it as enjoyable as recollecting that special memory.  Read More
